I start from the feeling that the living world around us, in which we are an integral part, is in perpetual motion . This movement is the vital impulse that I feel in the movements of the body or in the sight of nature: clouds in the sky, leaves in the wind, flowing water, or even dance animating bodies.

The challenge of my painting, which tends towards abstraction, is to reveal and convey this energy through rhythmic lines and simple, contrasting colors. My pictorial approach reflects the major influence of the American Abstract Expressionists of the 1950s, and more specifically the works of women artists such as Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner, and Helen Frankenthaler.
