Biography
Véronique Rondeau Amouyal, who signs her work VRA, is a French painter based in Paris whose unique career bridges the gap between science and the visual arts. Initially fascinated by the human body and the dynamics of life, she practiced medicine in the field of medical imaging for many years. But in 1997, she decided to make a decisive change in her life to fully dedicate herself to a passion for art that had driven her since childhood. From then on, the body and the vitality of life would no longer be represented for VRA on the screens of medical machines, but through her vision and her artistic touch.
She then undertook advanced artistic studies at prestigious institutions such as the Ateliers de l'Union des Arts Décoratifs and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, before being appointed Professor of Visual Arts and obtaining a Doctorate in Arts from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. Her academic research focused in particular on "The Body Traversed: Art and Medical Imaging".
Throughout her artistic career, she has explored numerous mediums—oil and acrylic painting, digital imagery, video, and installation—constantly expanding her field of experimentation with form and energy. Today, VRA focuses on an abstract painting she describes as "energetic." In her Parisian studio, starting from the feeling that the living world around us, in which we are all part, is in perpetual motion, she creates vibrant and rhythmic pictorial compositions where movement and color translate the continuous flow of life. The body remains a major element in her compositions, and more specifically the female body, which flourishes in the artist's abstract works.
A recognized professional artist, VRA regularly exhibits her works and pursues an approach where her sensitivity to life intertwines with a deep desire to share and transmit this vitality through art.
